Council approves grant application for UNESCO Global Geopark project

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is hoping to shine a brighter light on the Sea to Sky’s eclectic and dynamic natural environment via a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Global Geopark designation. At its Jan. 22 meeting, council approved a grant application for $962,336 to the Canada-British Columbia Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to help pay for the $1.3-million project.…
